Indoor Air Quality

The goal of the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) program at Texas State University is to help the University to maintain a safe indoor air quality environment for all employees and student as well as to identify and correct potential hazards.

EHS Specialist uses an air monitoring device to asses the air quality of a corridor in a TXST building.

The Risks of Indoor Air Quality

Evidence has indicated that the air within homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities and many people spend approximately 90 percent of their time indoors. Thus, the risks to health may be greater due to exposure to air pollution indoors than outdoors.
