Mobile Food Units

EHSREM permits and inspects all Mobile Food Units on Texas State campuses.

Mobile Food Units

A Mobile Food Unit (MFU) is any type of unit on wheels that is used to serve food and/or beverages. Examples include:

  • Food Trucks
  • Food Trailers
  • Push Carts

University Departments interested in hosting a food truck on campus for their event must book an approved and permitted vendor by contacting Chartwells or e-mail chartwells@txstate.edu at least 30 days ahead of your event.

IMPORTANT:  Once your food truck is confirmed, your department must notify EHSREM via Bobcat Organization HUB and select one of the pre-approved sites and provide the date and time of your event.  This is important so that your food truck has a windshield operating certificate (WOC) to display during their operation.

If you are a Mobile Food Unit business owner wishing to operate on Texas State University campuses, please e-mail chartwells@txstate.edu for information on how to become an approved and permitted MFU vendor.

Outdoor Reservations

For events on the Quad, Bobcat Trail, or LBJ Mall, space reservations must be made with LBJSC Event Services.

Campus Recreation

Any events that will take place at the Campus Recreation facilities, including Sewell Park, will need to complete the appropriate space request.
